We made 30lbs of cheese, 30 pounds of butter, as I’m carrying our 13th child.
I am neither a martyr or a saint, I am not oppressed, I am not wonder woman.
I’m not the girl that loves babies or the wife who dreamed of a large family.
But my kids are my favorite people, and the best meals are when we’re all at the table together.
The best things in life are the details, simple, little un-noteworthy, everyday things that are both priceless and free. The wild rose in the spring breeze, the crisp fall air that sends a shiver down your spine, a newborn’s first cry, the way that ONE looks at you, the serenade of endless summer crickets, the sharp pain that makes you aware of being alive.
Don’t miss the little things. There will never be movie or best seller about them, but it’s what colors your life happy or sad, wealthy or poor, success or failure.
Mine??
My life is colored with beauty and abundance and struggles.
It is filled with love and arguments and passion.
My life has food that kings covet.
It has enough mistakes to keep me humble, enough risk to keep me thankful, and enough work to sleep well.
